Design Philosophy
My career began in the trenches of some of the premier printing and high-end color shops in the country. Working in environments that required me to perform quality control on the electronic files of the countries top agencies and designers gave me a solid education in good design. It also taught be that marketing is the glue that holds a capital market together. Design, production, research, sales, operations; these pieces of the puzzle and many others are all tied into the target consciousness of the consumer through the marketing mechanism.
This is what being around good design has taught me about good business;
- simple is good
- clean is good
- difficult isn't a bad thing
- dirty isn't bad either
- even bad design works when the result matches the demographic
- bigger is not always better
- smaller is not always better either
- color definitely matters - sometimes
- the subconscious is always in control
- everybody is a designer with valueable input to be had
- everybody is a marketing guru with equally valuable input to be had
- everybody is always right as long as marketing does its job
- the rules are always changing
